Report from Punchng.com confirmed a suspected Boko Haram man to have been
apprehended while spying MOPOL barracks in Plateau state.
The recent incident followed persistent complaints by members of the public on the
existence of some strange persons in some parts of Jos and Bukuru metropolis.
Our correspondent gathered that the suspect was arrested on Monday while allegedly
spying on some policemen undertaking parade rehearsals in preparation for the pulling out ceremony of the state police commissioner, Mr. Chris Olakpe.
According to police sources, the presence of the suspect near the parade ground raised
the suspicion of those on the parade ground.
He was said to have fled when the security operatives attempted to interrogate him.
Apprehension however enveloped the place when the fleeing suspect ran towards the
nursery and primary school building located within the barracks, before he was
apprehended by some policemen.
The suspects was said to have made another attempt to escape when he was been quizzed but was rearrested.
He was said to have been transferred to Anguljos police station for questioning.
He reportedly told his interrogators that he was a Kanuri and had come from Gonori in Gujba Local Government area of Yobe State.
